Dr. Sayedna Mohommed Burhanuddin

Dr. Sayedna Mohommed Burhanuddin, the leader of Bohra community.

Every community has its own community leader guarding and directing the community people to the path of religion but there are very few such leaders who not only guide us to the path of religion but also acts and becomes our mother and father one such leader was Dr. Sayedna Mohommed Burhanuddin, he served Bohra community for 50 long years not just being the leader but being the mother who calms and comfort their children and father who is strict and bright to help his kids for to walk on right path. 

After the Death of Dr. Sayedna Taher Saifuddin, Dr. Sayedna Mohommed Burhanudin became his successor, who has memorized whole Quran at the age of 6 and has successfully became chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University twice. He not only bought the Bohra community to the path of religion but also sustained over all development of them. Improvement in education, standard of living, dressing, knowledge, employment, love, modern facilities with implementation of technology and taking care of emotional, financial and health of every single Dawoodi Bohra.

Faiz-ul-mawaid-ul-burhaniya for free food for every Dawoodi bohra, cleanliness, Eco- friendly devlopment, business and employment facilities, scholarships and lots more. If we bohra go on counting his gifts it would take more then 100 years to list them out. Most important gift was the gathering for Moharram events, to pay homage for sacrifice of Prophet Mohommed's (saw) grand son Husain Imam (as) who sacrificed himself and his whole family with 72 martyrs in the war to save humanity and justice in the world. Paying homage to him and remebering his sacrifice is the least we could do. His holliness made us realize the value of Husain Imam's sacrifice and made us worth to may homage to him.

It's been 5 years since the death of Dr. Sayedn Mohommed Burhanuddin but still by just recalling his name every Dawoodi bohra's eyes gets moist. Not just for community but he worked for everyone and served them whoever came to him no matter which community, caste or tribe the person belonged to. It feels impossible to believe that His Holiness is no more.

I had a very cute habit from childhood that in any problem or happiness I will stand in front of his photo and joining my hands i will speak heart out to him, as if he is my mother, father and best friend too. He always said that any problem or situation just bow your head and recall me I will definitely come to help you and he always kept his words and promise whenever we recall him in any circumstances he is  their to solve it out. He slept peacefully near his father in Raudat Taher, Bhindi Bazar Mumbai and that place is much more than a religious pilgrimage but the place where every Bhora's heart belongs.

We miss you  Burhanuddin Maula  day and night or it would be more correct to say every second of our life.
